1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how SoundVisionary Media ("Company", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information in connection with onlineplayerauction.in ("Platform").

It applies to everyone whose information reaches the Platform — league organizers who create an account, team owners who are given bidding access, players who are entered into an auction, and visitors who simply browse the website or send us an enquiry.

By using the Platform you agree to the practices described here. This Policy forms part of our Terms and Conditions and should be read alongside them.

2. Who We Are

The Platform is owned and operated by SoundVisionary Media, Sanjauli, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh — 171006, India. We are the entity responsible for the Platform infrastructure and for the security of the data held within it.

All questions about this Policy, and all requests relating to your personal data, can be sent to contact@onlineplayerauction.in.

3. Information We Collect

We collect only what the Platform needs in order to set up an auction, run the live bidding, and support the Organizer around the event. What is collected depends on how you use the Platform.

Organizer and administrator accounts

When you register as a league organizer we store your name, email address, an encrypted password, your role on the Platform, and the auctions your account is permitted to access. If you sign in with Google instead, we receive your name, email address, Google account identifier, and profile picture from Google — we never receive or store your Google password.

Team owner access

Where an Organizer enables remote bidding, the Platform stores a login email address and an encrypted password for each participating team, along with the team name, short code, logo, purse and budget figures, and a record of when that team was last active in the bid room.

Player information

Player records are created and submitted by the Organizer, not by us. Depending on how the Organizer configures registration, a player record may include name, age, father's name, mobile number, photograph, playing role and style, player category, jersey name, jersey number, kit sizes, free-text notes, base value, and the team and price at which the player was eventually sold.

Auction and bidding activity

For every Auction Event the Platform records bids placed, the team that placed them, bid amounts and timestamps, player sale outcomes, purse and bonus movements, and squad composition. This record exists so that an auction is auditable and disputes can be settled against evidence rather than memory.

Payment and upgrade information

When you upgrade an auction plan we record the plan chosen, the amount, the currency, the status of the request, an optional transaction reference and payer name that you supply, any note you add, and — if you upload one — a payment receipt file. We do not operate a card gateway and we never collect, see, or store card numbers, CVVs, UPI PINs, net-banking credentials, or any other payment authentication data.

Enquiries and support requests

When you use the contact form we collect your name, email address, phone number, league name where given, and your message, so that we can respond. Contact form submissions are delivered to our team by email.

Technical and usage information

Like any web application, the Platform records technical information as you use it: your IP address, browser and device user agent, session identifier, and server-side logs of errors and significant actions. Where the Organizer or the Company has enabled website analytics, aggregate usage statistics about page visits are also collected.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above for the following purposes, and no others:

  • Creating and authenticating accounts, and keeping you signed in across a session
  • Setting up auctions, teams, players, budgets, and sponsor details on the Organizer's instruction
  • Running live bidding in real time, and keeping bid history traceable for event integrity
  • Generating team dashboards, squad views, public auction pages, and broadcast overlays
  • Processing plan upgrades and verifying the payments that accompany them
  • Responding to enquiries, support requests, and account or policy questions
  • Detecting, investigating, and preventing bid manipulation, unauthorized access, fraud, and abuse
  • Diagnosing faults, monitoring performance, and improving the Platform
  • Meeting our legal, tax, and regulatory obligations under Indian law

We do not use personal information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell it.

5. Organizer Responsibility for Player and Team Data

5.1 For player and team owner data, the Organizer decides what is collected and why. We process that data on the Organizer's instruction, for the purpose of conducting their Auction Event, and for no independent purpose of our own.

5.2 The Organizer is responsible for obtaining consent from every player and team owner whose personal information — including photographs and mobile numbers — is entered into the Platform, and for informing them how that information will be used and displayed during the auction.

5.3 Organizers must not upload personal information they have no right to share, and must not enter sensitive personal data that the auction does not require. We do not ask for and do not want financial account details, government identity numbers, health records, or biometric data in player profiles.

5.4 Players and team owners with questions about how their data is being used in a particular auction should contact the Organizer of that league in the first instance. We will assist an Organizer in responding, and will act directly where the law requires us to.

6. Information Visible During an Auction

An auction is a public event by nature. Depending on the features an Organizer enables, some of the information submitted to the Platform is shown to other participants and to the audience:

  • Player names, photographs, categories, roles, base values, and sale prices appear on the auction screen and on broadcast overlays
  • Team names, logos, remaining purse, and squad lists appear on team dashboards and public auction pages
  • Bid amounts and the bidding team are visible to participants during live bidding
  • Public auction, team, and squad pages are reachable only through signed links generated by the Platform; anyone holding such a link can view that page

Organizers should share signed auction, overlay, and squad links only with people they intend to have access, and should treat those links as confidential.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Platform uses cookies for the following purposes:

Essential cookies
A session cookie and a CSRF token cookie are required for you to sign in, stay signed in, and submit forms safely. The Platform cannot function without them.
"Remember me" cookies
If you choose to stay signed in, a long-lived token is stored so you are not asked for your password on every visit.
Preference storage
Your interface choices, such as light or dark theme, may be stored in your browser so the site looks the same on your next visit.
Analytics cookies
Where a Google Analytics measurement ID has been configured, Google sets cookies to report aggregate visitor statistics. These are not used to identify you personally by us.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in or placing bids.

8. Third-Party Services

We keep third-party involvement deliberately minimal. The services below may process limited information when you use the Platform:

Google Sign-In
Used only if you choose to sign in with Google. Google confirms your identity to us and shares your name, email address, account identifier, and profile picture. Your Google credentials are entered on Google's systems and are never seen by us.
Google Analytics
Used where a measurement ID has been configured, to report aggregate traffic and page-view statistics.
Google Fonts
Typefaces used across the website are requested from Google's font servers, which receive the request as part of loading the page.
Email delivery
Contact form submissions and transactional notices are delivered through the configured mail service so that our team receives them.
Hosting infrastructure
The Platform, its database, and uploaded files are hosted with our infrastructure provider, which stores the data on our behalf under contract.

Each of these providers processes information under its own privacy policy. We do not authorise any of them to use Platform data for their own marketing.

9. Data Sharing and Disclosure

9.1 We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not share personally identifiable data with third parties for their marketing purposes.

9.2 We share information only in these circumstances: with the Organizer whose auction the data belongs to; with participants of that auction to the extent the auction features require; with the service providers listed above, strictly to operate the Platform; where you have asked us to; and where disclosure is required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a government authority.

9.3 If the Company is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or transfer of assets, personal information may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify affected Clients and the protections in this Policy will continue to apply.

10. Data Retention

10.1 Auction data — players, teams, bids, and results — is retained for as long as the Organizer's account remains active, so that past auctions stay available for reference and dispute resolution.

10.2 Payment and upgrade records are retained for as long as required for accounting, tax, and audit obligations under Indian law. Uploaded payment receipts are deleted once the upgrade request they belong to is cancelled or the receipt is replaced.

10.3 Session and technical log data is retained only for the short period needed for security monitoring and fault diagnosis.

10.4 Where an account is terminated, associated auction data may be removed in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. We are not obliged to retain data after termination except where the law requires it.

11. How We Protect Your Information

We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we hold, including:

  • Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes and are never recoverable in readable form
  • Traffic between your browser and the Platform is encrypted in transit
  • Access to auction data is scoped to the accounts the Organizer has authorised, and administrative functions are restricted by role
  • Payment receipts are held on a private storage disk with no public URL and are served only after the viewer's permission is checked
  • Bid submission is rate-limited, and public auction pages are reachable only through signed links
  • Forms are protected against cross-site request forgery, and inputs are validated before they are stored

No online platform can promise absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your own credentials and any auction access links confidential, and for telling us promptly at support@onlineplayerauction.in if you suspect unauthorized access.

12. Your Rights

Subject to applicable Indian law, you may:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date
  • Request deletion of your personal information, where we have no legal or contractual reason to retain it
  • Withdraw a consent you previously gave, understanding that this may prevent your continued participation in an auction
  • Ask how your information has been shared, and with whom
  • Raise a grievance about how your information has been handled

Send any of these requests to contact@onlineplayerauction.in from the email address associated with your account. We will respond within a reasonable period, and may need to verify your identity before we act. Where the request concerns player or team data inside a league, we will co-ordinate with the Organizer who controls that auction.

13. Children's Information

The Platform is not intended for independent use by anyone under the age of 18. An account may only be created and operated by an adult.

Junior and age-group cricket leagues do run auctions on the Platform. Where a player under 18 is entered into an auction, the Organizer is responsible for obtaining verifiable consent from that player's parent or legal guardian before submitting their information, and for limiting what is submitted to what the auction actually needs.

If you believe a child's information has been submitted without proper consent, write to us at contact@onlineplayerauction.in and we will remove it.

14. Data Location and Transfers

The Platform is operated from India and is intended for leagues and tournaments in India. Personal information is stored on servers used by our hosting provider, and certain third-party services listed in this Policy may process limited technical data outside India.

Where information is processed outside India, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected to a standard consistent with this Policy and with applicable Indian law.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Platform develops or as the law changes. The revised Policy will be posted here with an updated effective date, and continued use of the Platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the revision.

Where a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will make reasonable efforts to notify registered Clients by email.

16. Governing Law

This Policy is governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act 2000 and the rules made under it, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 as and when its provisions come into force. Any dispute arising in connection with this Policy is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts at Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India.
